Submission Guidelines

To ensure your audition is accepted by Filmopixel, follow these essential rules and submission guidelines. Submit only high-resolution photos and clearly audible videos. Make sure to avoid background noise, poor lighting, and incorrect file formats. Carefully follow all script instructions provided. Late, incomplete, or improperly formatted entries will not be considered.

Your Success Starts Here!

Your application is your first casting. A well-crafted, complete, and professional profile is your best chance to be noticed for roles in Bengali films, web series, and music videos. Please read these guidelines carefully to create a submission that truly represents your talent and professionalism.

1. Choose Your Submission Type

In the Submission Type field, select the option that best fits your goal. This ensures your application is reviewed by the right team.

  • Apply for a Specific Role: Select this if you are responding to a published casting call. You must choose the specific Project and Role from the dropdown list. Your photos and experience should be tailored to show why you are the perfect fit for that character.
  • Submit to General Talent Pool: Select this to be included in our central talent database. Our casting team regularly searches this pool for upcoming projects that may not be publicly announced. This is an excellent way to be considered for a wide range of future opportunities.

2. Your Personal & Professional Information

Accuracy is non-negotiable. This data is used for all communication, scheduling, and contracts. A simple typo could lead to a missed opportunity. Please double-check every field.

  • Full Name: Enter your professional stage name. You may be asked for your legal name later for contractual purposes.
  • Contact Details: Provide a primary email address and a mobile number that you check regularly. This is our only way to reach you for auditions.
  • Address & Location: Your current city (e.g., Kolkata, Siliguri) is vital for casting logistics. Be sure to mention if you are willing and able to travel for work.
  • Date of Birth & Age Range: Your Date of Birth is required for legal reasons. Your Playing Age Range is for casting—indicate the range of ages you can believably and confidently portray on screen (e.g., 22-28 years).
  • Physical Attributes: Provide accurate measurements for Height (in Feet and Inches), and if you are comfortable, Weight. Details like Eye and Hair Color can be crucial for roles with specific character descriptions.
  • Union Affiliations: If you are a member of any industry unions (e.g., EIMPA, BFTCC), please state it clearly. This affects project budgeting and contracts.

3. Showcasing Your Experience & Skills

This is your professional resume. Be detailed, specific, and honest. This is where you prove you have the craft and versatility we are looking for.

  • Acting Experience: List your verifiable credits. For each, use the industry-standard format:
    • Format: Project Title | Role Name | Director | Production House | Year
    • Example: "Sonar Kella" | Topshe | Satyajit Ray | Govt. of West Bengal | 1974
    • Specify the role type: Lead, Supporting, Character Role, Cameo.
  • Special Skills: List talents that make you unique. A special skill can be the deciding factor for a role.
    • Languages & Dialects: Bengali (Fluent, Ghoti dialect), Hindi (Conversational), English (Fluent).
    • Performance Arts: Singing (Rabindra Sangeet, Classical), Dancing (Kathak, Contemporary), Instruments (Sitar, Guitar), Stunt Work (Stage Combat), Voice-Over, Mimicry.
    • Athletic/Other: Horse Riding, Swimming, Driving (Car, Motorcycle), Yoga, Martial Arts (Kalaripayattu).
  • Training & Workshops: Mention formal training, as it shows your dedication. Include the institution/guru, course/workshop name, and duration.

4. Your Media: Your Visual Introduction

High-quality media is the most critical part of your submission. It's how we see you before we meet you. Your photos and videos must be professional, current, and meet the following specifications to be considered.

A) Professional Photos: The Essential Trio

You must upload exactly 3 recent photos (taken within the last 6 months). These photos must accurately reflect your current look (haircut, weight, etc.). Selfies, social media snapshots, or photos with filters will result in your application being rejected.

Technical Requirements: Format: .jpg or .jpeg only. | Maximum File Size: 3MB per photo. | Recommended Photo Size: 4:6 Ratio

  • Photo 1: The Headshot (Close-up)
This is a shoulders-up photo focused on your face. It should be well-lit with your eyes clearly visible. Provide one theatrical (serious, neutral expression) or commercial (gentle, warm smile) headshot. This is your primary marketing photo. (Photo Description: Close-up of your face, neutral or smiling expression, plain background.)
  • Photo 2: The Mid-Shot (Waist-up)
This photo should be framed from your waist up. It helps casting directors see your body type and how you carry yourself. It provides more character information than a simple headshot. (Photo Description: Framed from the waist up, showing your torso and arms, natural posture.)
  • Photo 3: The Full-Body Shot
A head-to-toe photo. This is essential for assessing your overall physique, posture, and for costume department considerations. Wear simple, form-fitting clothing (e.g., jeans and a solid-colored t-shirt). (Photo Description: Full-body view from head to toe, standing naturally, simple attire.)

B) Performance & Profile Links

Provide direct, public, and working links. Private or password-protected content cannot be reviewed. Test every link before submitting.

  • Introduction Video / Self-Tape Link: (Highly Recommended) In the "Monologue/Video Link" field, provide a link to a short (60-second) self-taped introduction. State your name, the city you're based in, and your playing age range. This shows your personality and on-camera presence.
  • Showreel/Demo Reel Link: If you have one, this is the best way to showcase your talent. A good reel is 1-3 minutes long, starts with your absolute best scene, and demonstrates your acting range. Place this link in the "Monologue/Video Link" field.
  • Online Profile Link: In the "Profile Link" field, add a link to your most professional online presence. This could be your IMDb page, a personal actor website, or a public, professionally-managed Instagram/Facebook profile dedicated to your acting career.
